r two rounds at the Women's World Amateur Team Championships in Japan the Australian team of Su Hyun Oh, Minjee Lee and Shelly Shin are tied for tenth position and poised to make their move.
The trio all played well on Day One, but left a few shots out on the Iriyama course. Their even round score was possibly the worst reward the team could have had from their good play.
The girls got things going at times on Day Two around the Oshitate course with Oh posting a 4-under 68 and both Lee and Shin carding 2-under 70s. Playing on the world stage for the first time, Shin got it to 5-under midway through her round and left those watching in no doubt of her ability to mix it at this level.
It is worth noting that the Australian team is the only team in the field without a player over par.
Both courses are playing quite similar with front nines on the flat land and the back nines heading into the mountains. It is for this reason that fog delays have become a part of this tournament.
Conditions are forecast to get nasty for Day Three so it will be imperative the team remains patient and accepts that it will be a tough day out there.
