The MyGolf team are thrilled to have tournament venue Royal Melbourne Golf Club join the MyGolf program. Royal Melbourne Golf Club will be hosting the 2015 Handa Women’s Australian Open in February.
The MyGolf Coordinator at Royal Melbourne Golf Club, Daniel Whyley, believes the golfing bodies (Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia) coming together to streamline and improve junior golf development is a huge benefit to junior golf. He is looking forward to applying the MyGolf framework to the introductory level of junior golf at Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
“We see the MyGolf program as a great long term strategy to keep our juniors interested in golf and moving into our club development program” said Whyley.
“The program looks quite simple to implement and is very inclusive”.
With the 2015 Handa Women’s Australian Open just around the corner, Royal Melbourne Golf Club will be launching their first MyGolf program in Term 1, 2015.
When asked how many spectators Royal Melbourne Golf Club is expecting to see during the 2015 Handa Women’s Australian Open, Whyley estimated a solid 15,000 to 20,000.
“Of the 15,000 to 20,000 estimated spectators we would love to see as many juniors as possible!” said Whyley.
“The SNAG Golf stands and MyGolf interactive zones should help entertain them.”
Royal Melbourne Golf Club is proud to be promoting junior golf through their current junior initiatives, including the delivery of the MyGolf program, as they hope to see young golfers prosper in their games and have golf as a sport for life.
