By Ben Collins, Sportal Adults and children alike are enjoying getting up close and personal with their golfing idols at this year&aposs MFS Australian Open. Tournament organisers have set up an Autograph Zone just off the 18th green at Royal Sydney, so as soon as the players leave the scorers hut, fans have the chance to meet their heroes and boost their autograph collection. Robert Lee, from Parramatta, went home a happy man after he and his three children had the opportunity to meet one of the game&aposs legends on Friday. “It&aposs great for the kids, they&aposre loving it,” he said. “We got Greg Norman&aposs autograph. Also Rod Pampling, Nathan Green, Stuart Appleby and Robert Allenby.” “My daughter loves them,” he added. “Her birthday is the same day as Greg Norman&aposs and it&aposs great that the kids have met him now.” The Autograph Zone is a designated area with barriers marking out where to queue, so fans don&apost have to jostle to see the stars and have to wait only a matter of seconds to get their souvenirs signed. World No.33 Pampling also backed the initiative, saying it makes things easier for both the fans and the players. “It&aposs the first time I&aposve seen it and it works fine,” he said. “I think it&aposs a great idea. Everybody can get some access to the players.” “It&aposs somewhere for people to get autographs easier and a good way to get some photos, and I hope they enjoy it. It makes it a little bit easier for everyone.”
