Baddeley continues US surge

Aaron Baddeley's strong season on the PGA Tour continued with a closing 71 and a tied-12th finish in the Quicken Loans National at Congressional today.

Baddeley, 35, is projected to jump to 94th on the Fedex Cup standings despite having only limited starts this year.

The Victorian, twice winner of the Australian Open in his youth, is working with former Open Championship winner Todd Hamilton and playing some of his best golf this year. American Billy Hurley won his first Tour event by three shots.

Meanwhile Marcus Fraser finished tied-21st in the European Tour's BMW International Open in Germany as he pitches for an Olympic Games berth.

Fraser is in a dogfight with Scott Hend, who missed the cut, for the second Australian spot at Rio de Janeiro behind Jason Day.
