In the 25th anniversary year of the event, Balaklava Golf Club have won the Women’s Component of the 2016 Holden Scramble Championship Final played at Twin Waters Golf Club on the Sunshine Coast.
Lead by PGA Professional Chris Duke, the Balaklava Golf Club from South Australia claimed the women’s section of the Holden Scramble Championship Final.
The team could not have thought in their wildest dreams that they would be national champions when they entered their local event in back in July.
“Never in a million years, we are just so lucky to be here and are so greatful to the Holden Scramble. It has allowed us as amateurs to be in this position today.” said the representatives from the team
“We have been a fantastic combination for this format, and we have enjoyed the course and every minute of the event, with some great time on the course and off.”
“The Championship Final was everything and more that we could of hoped for and the PGA and Holden have done an awesome job putting this event together.”
The Sunshine Coast has become synonymous with the Holden Scramble after staging 19 of the 25 Finals. It was been a massive year for the Holden Scramble celebrating the 25th anniversary, 1 millionth participant and the 25,000th women’s participant.
The Holden Scramble will be back in 2017, and will be on the hunt for our next champions.
