It was moving day for the Women’s Country Teams’ Matches contesting their third and fourth rounds of this year’s competition. It was another chilly and windy day as Division 1 traveled out to Settlers Run GC while Division 2 & 3 contested at Woodlands GC.
In Division 1, Western have moved to the top of the ladder after their commanding wins today over North Eastern and Golf Central. It will be an exciting showdown for the cup as they face second place team South Western for the final match tomorrow who are vying for their triple crown.
Ballarat have claimed the Division 2 title after strong performances in all their four undefeated rounds. Their four wins and a bye tomorrow morning will mean they will sleep on a satisfying feeling knowing they have asserted the trophy. Dalhousie are currently in second position after two solid wins on day two over East Gippsland & Goulburn Valley.
Special mention to Robyn Walker who has suited up for in the East Gippsland Country Team 27 times, with her first being in 1987.
Murray Darling will lead heading into the final round of Division 3. After a bye this morning, the team came out fresh recording a 6 and 1 win over Kara Kara. Murray Darling will take on Wimmera tomorrow in the final round which will ultimately decide who takes the title.
The final round will be staged tomorrow at Victoria GC for Divisions 1 & 2 and Peninsula-Kingswood (Peninsula Site) for Division 3.
