Australian golfer Kurt Barnes leads the Japan Golf Tour s Vana H Cup KBC Augusta event in Fukuoka in southern Japan, the 31 year old s second round of 64 opening up a one shot lead over Akio Sadakata. Barnes is playing his third season on the Japan Tour. His lone victory came at last year s ANA Open in Hokkaido and after a slow start to the 2012 season he has begun to put together several good tournaments of late. Victorian James McLean is the next best of the Austraians in 20th postion after a good move late on day two with a round of 67. Steve Conran and leading money winner in 2012, Brendan Jones, are the next best of the Australians in 39th postion, an eagle at the last by Jones ensuring he made the cut after appearing at one stage as if his chances of making the weekend were in jeopardy. New Zealander David Smail also made the cut albeit right on the number.
