Barr fires early

Australia&aposs Scott Barr is just one shot from the lead after the opening round of the Vietnam Open. Barr&aposs six-under-par round of 66 means he will enter the second round one shot adrift of Kodai Ichihara, after he successfully negotiated the afternoon conditions to fire a blistering 65. Pyo Suk-min and Wang Ter-chang are tied for second place with Barr, while there are a host of players in equal fifth place at five-under, including Anthony Kang and Thongchai Jaidee. Of the other Australians, Gary Simpson fired an impressive round of 69 to be tied for 13th, while compatriot Andrew Dodt was a further shot back in a share of 19th.
