Barr, Groom solid in India

Australians Scott Barr and Adam Groom are tied for 22nd after the first day of the Hero Indian Open in Bengaluru on Thursday. Barr and Groom both carded one-under rounds of 70, leaving them four shots behind leading duo James Morrison and Richie Ramsay, of England and Scotland respectively. Barr hit five birdies and four bogeys in a topsy-turvy round while Groom was more composed, finishing with two birdies and one bogey. Australian trio Tim Stewart, Scott Hend and Unho Park fired rounds of 71 while their countrymen, David Gleeson and Marcus Both finished the day at one over. Morrison hit one eagle, five birdies and two bogeys in an exciting performance while Ramsay stormed home with four back-nine birdies.
