Beeac wins the 2014 Victorian Men’s Country Teams Championship by an impressive 15 points in the three person aggregate stableford event. The team consisting of Stuart Marshall, Andrew Coles, and Clinton Worden led from start to finish and capped of a grateful win. Stuart was again the standout with three rounds of 39, 36 & 37, which was also good enough to claim the lead individual 54 hole stableford title.
The guys from Beeac, which is a small town near Colac, were privileged in taking this year’s championship. Alan Read had the highlight on Sunday with a Hole-In-One on the 2nd. This was Alan’s second hole-in-one.
“I hit a 4 iron and it bounced up and in” Alan said.
Mildura Golf Resort welcomed 90 players across the state for two days of sunny blue skies. Temperatures reaching the low 30’s on Saturday afternoon made the going a little challenging whilst testing player’s patience.
The Men’s Country Teams which began at Horsham in 1976 is well participated year to year. Attracting players on a wide range of handicaps from all parts of the State, the event is held in a different part of Country Victoria each year. Next year Belvoir Park located in the southern area of Bendigo will have the honour of hosting.
