Bennett bows out of British Amateur

Emma Bennett&aposs run at the British Amateur has come to an end with a 4&2 loss at the hands of Breanne Loucks in the round of 16. Only half of the scheduled matches went ahead in what was a wet and wild day at The Alwoodley Golf Club. Number one seed Carlota Ciganda of Spain continued her good form with a 4&2 triumph over compatriot Marta Silva while three English girls remain in the draw hoping to claim their national title. Meawhile in the US Ray Beaufils and Aaron Pike are the best of the Aussies at six-over in the Monroe Invitational. Pike shot a standout 67 in the second round but fell off the pace with a 75 today. Rudi Bezuidenhout is at 10-over while Michael Foster is another three shots back. American Dustin Johnson is the runaway leader at 12-under the card. The South Carolinian shot a tournament best 62 in the third round to put himself six strokes clear of the chasing pack.
