Bexley Golf Club’s mixed pennant team has taken out their first Pennant in the competition and only the club’s fourth pennant in its history.
The sixteen member team defeated Balgowlah by 4 matches to 1 in a keenly contested final at Cabramatta Golf Club in April.
Along the way the tight knit team managed to grab four wins from six games in their pool draw before progressing to the finals where they defeated Moore Park and the Coast in the Quarters and Semis respectively.
Despite a few awkward post victory attempts at gymnastics and the odd tear from a grown man, the celebrations back at the Bexley Clubhouse went without a hitch and long into the night. The trophy is now engraved with the words ‘2016 Bexley’ and the flag is hanging proudly above the club’s bar.
