The Australian Girls&apos Interstate Teams Matches for the Burtta Cheney Cup is Australia&aposs premier Junior Amateur Team Golf Championship. Each State is represented by six players with five players contesting singles match play each round in a round robin format. The event was played at Yering Meadows Golf Club, VIC from 13-15 April.

Final Round
It was not meant to be for NSW this year. Queensland were once again victorious to claim their fourth consecutive title. It was down to the wire with all players heading to the final tee to watch Shelly Shin battle it out against Karis Davidson. Shelly did well to square Karis, but it wasn&apost enough to get NSW over the line. Overall the girls played extremely well to come in second place, and the team represented NSW with pride. NSW is currently in equal first position with QLD, both teams having won three contests and twelve matches. First Day&aposs Play Australian Girls&apos Interstate Teams Matches Update
The first round was played in bright sunny conditions which was a relief after the cold and wet weather experienced during the Australian Girls&apos Amateur Championship. It was a strong start for the NSW Girls&apos Team who defeated the leaders and local Victorians 3/2. Interstate Girls&apos Team Results as follows: NSW defeated Victoria 3/2 Shelly Shin defeated Julienne Soo 4/3 Celina Yuan square Soo-Bin Park Jess Lasky defeated Cheerie Tan 3/2 Doey Choi square Olivia Kline Antonia Gonzalez lost Alexandra Hilliard 1 down Three matches went to the 18th in a closely fought contest. Celina&aposs opponent sunk a long putt on the 18th to square her match. Jess Lasky said she hit one of her best three woods to be on a par five in two for an easy birdie. Shelly peppered the pin on numerous occasions. Antonia started with a birdie and played excellent golf in close match. Both Doey and Celina were down mid match and fought back for squares. Tomorrow the Girls Team play SA and WA and on Tuesday they play defending champions QLD.
