Blyth, Kennedy eight adrift

Adam Blyth and Brad Kennedy are the best -placed Aussies after the penultimate round of the TCL Classic in China. Blyth had an up and down day carding a two-under round of 70 while Kennedy was solid shooting a 69. The pair is now in a share of fifth at 13 under, eight shots behind the leader Chapchai Nirat. Simon Nash is a stroke further back after carding a one-under round of 71. Nirat, who equalled the Asian Tour 36-hole record with a second-round 66 to move to 17 under, wobbled after struggling in the closing stages of his third round before carding a four-under-par 68 to go to 21 under for the tournament. Argentina&aposs Rafael Echenique sits on 15 under, a shot clear of Taiwan&aposs Lu Weh Teh, while English duo Oliver Fisher and James Heath join Singapore Open champion Liang Wen-Chong of China on 13 under. James Heath, playing alongside Tunnicliff, began the day with a storming error-free 32 on the front nine following his second-round 63, but struggled on the way home and carded a level-par 36 after rescuing his round with two late birdies. “I&aposm pleased because the round could have got away from me, I lost my focus on the front part of the back nine but I regrouped well and managed to pick up a couple of birdies in the last three holes,” he told PA Sport. “I made some silly errors, I don&apost know why, but I&aposm glad they happened as they taught me a lesson and they won&apost be happening again.” Lee Westwood carded a third-round 68 to join Liverpool&aposs Nick Dougherty a further shot adrift on 12 under. Ireland&aposs Paul McGinley, who narrowly avoided Friday&aposs cut, carded a level-par 72 to remain at five under, while England&aposs Simon Hurd failed to build on his second-round 67 and dropped to four under after shooting a two-over-par 74.
