Blyth one adrift

Lin Wen-tang carded a four-under-par 67 to take a one-shot lead in the second round of the Bangkok Airways Open on Friday. The Chinese Taipei man shot an eagle on the par-five ninth for a two-day total of six-under 136 at the Santiburi Samui Country Club, which saw a 50-minute rain delay. Adam Blyth is one behind after carding a 68, while Mardan Mamat, the 2006 Singapore Masters champion, climbed the leaderboard to join the Australian in second place after a six-under-par 65. Prom Meesawat shot a 67 to move to tied fourth alongside Gurbazz Mann of India, who shot a 66. “This is exactly where I wanted to be as I am determined to earn some money this week,” said Lin. “I had missed the cut at my previous event in Beijing in April, but I wasn&apost too concerned. “My putting and approach shots have been very consistent as seen on the ninth hole today. “After teeing off, I was 195 yards away from the pin, but a superb second shot with my five iron left the ball a mere one feet away for eagle. That was a good way to end my round.” Results from the second round of the Bangkok Airways Open: -6 Lin Wen-tang (TPE) 69 67 -5 Mardan Mamat (SIN) 72 65, Adam Blyth (Australia) 69 68, Lee Sung 66 66 -3 Prom Meesawat 72 67, Gurbaaz Mann 73 66, Jamnian Chitprasong 68 68, Lu Wen-teh 71 69 -2 Tony Lascuna 70 70, Prayad Marksaeng 69 69, Anthony Kang 69 69, Thaworn Wiratchant 69 69, Yeh Chang-ting 69 69, Guido Van Der Valk 69 69, Thongchai Jaidee 71 70 Also: E Richard Moir (Australia) 70 72, Gavin Flint (Australia) 71 71, Neven Basic (Australia) 71 71 +2 Stuart Lunn-Walker (Australia) 72 73
