Defending champion Julia Boland shot a final round 74 to consolidate her third round lead and take out the 2009 Lake Macquarie Amateur by seven strokes. The Pennant Hills Golf Club member outshone the field over the four days with rounds of 75, 72, 69 and 74, for a total of 290. Runners up were Jemma Partridge (Melville Glades WA) on 297, Whitney Hillier (Joondalup WA) on 298 and Rebecca Flood (Pennant Hills NSW) on 301. In light cool easterly sea breazes, players were still unable to conquer the Belmont links course. After a brilliant 69 (-4) yesterday in strong winds to the lead the tournament on 3 under, title holder Julia Boland, went to 5 under at the half-way mark today.
