BOLAND HOLDS FIRM AT TOP

Overnight tournament leader Julia Boland remains top of the leaderboard at the Australian Women’s Stroke Play Championship following an even par third round of 72 at Brisbane Golf Club. Boland holds a three shot lead over South Australian Ebony Heard heading into the final day with national squad member Stacey Keating also in tomorrows final group, a further shot off the pace. Queensland representatives Bree Arthur and Ashley Ona both remain in contention for the title, with Ona shooting one of the rounds of the day with a two-under par 70, and Arthur consolidating her earlier good work with a 2-over 74. Both players sit in equal forth position, five shots behind leader Boland. Other Queenslander players Sheree Hasson, Ash McCourt, Christina Mew and Jade Vellacott remain in contention to qualify in the top 32 for next week s Australian Women’s Amateur match play.
