National Squad member Frances Bondad holds a one stroke lead after the opening day of the New South Wales Women&aposs 72-Hole Stroke Play Championship at St. Michaels Golf Club. Difficult conditions made scoring tough, but the 19-year old came out on top with an opening round 76, one stroke clear of Helen Oh, Jenny Lee and Cecilia Nha. Weekend rain forced the start to be delayed by one hour and when competitors finally took to the course they were battered by strong coastal winds and showers all day. Although not having a great day overall, Ellie Na notched a personal highlight with a hole-in-one on the par three 12th. The second round commenced at 9:00am this morning.
