Wind was the major obstacle at Maroochy River Golf Club for the final of the 2017 Australian Women’s Senior Amateur Championship, where New Zealand’s Robyn Boniface defeated two-time winner Robyn Puckett from Queensland 2&1 in a tight match.
A crowd of 40-50 people watched the lead see-saw throughout the early stages, until Boniface to a two hole lead on the 13th, which proved to be the winning margin.
“I love playing with such lovely people on such a wonderful course” Boniface stated after her win, showing her modesty.
“Robyn’s been such a great player for so long. We’ve played together and against each other numerous times, but it’s an honour to the win the Australian Women’s Senior Championship after this one” Boniface concluded.
