Bonville 1st golf course to receive ‘Hat’ for dining

Bonville Golf Resort s Flooded Gums Restaurant has become Australia s 1st & only Golf Course/Golf Resort to be awarded a highly regarded and sought after Hat at the 2013 Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards.

Winning a Hat has been a 12 year project at Bonville where they have worked on gradual progression, improving little by little until they finally reached their goal. General Manager Brad Daymond stated: “The Bonville Team which comprises many long term staff members are dedicated to their craft and the culture of Bonville. Executive Chef Lee O Carroll deserves a special mention for his consistent commitment to quality, leadership and professionalism which has created a fantastic kitchen environment.” This honour came just weeks after being awarded two Glasses (out of a possible three) in the highly regarded Gourmet Traveller Fine Wine Partners Wine List Awards, and one Goblet at the Best of Award of Excellence at the International Wine Spectator Restaurant Wine List Awards regarded by some as the global benchmark. “The Golf Course at Bonville has always been highly awarded and recognised but it was extremely rewarding for us to see the Restaurant receive this recognition as they have consistently worked towards providing their Members and Guests with an Overall Experience …said, Daymond. Jonahs, Whale Beach (their sister property) has retained its 1 Hat status for 2013. There were twelve new 1 Hat Sydney listings and four demotions in this year s guide, so to preserve their Hat was an achievement in itself, given the ongoing competition in the Sydney Market. Adding to the excitement, Jonah s was also recently awarded three Glasses at the Gourmet Traveller Fine Wine Partners List Awards and two Goblets at the Best of Award of Excellence at the International Wine Spectator Restaurant Wine List Awards. From a golf perspective…. Bonville welcome the sunshine and warmth of Spring! The growth that Spring delivers to the Golf Course is remarkable, witnessed by the glorious array of colour from the Azaleas framing the 18th Hole and the awakening of the greens from the dormant Winter period. On a separate note, their owner, Peter Montgomery will soon be inducted into the International Swimming Hall Of Fame .
