Mark Boulton (Phillip Island) and Geraldine O’Callaghan (Southern) have both held onto to overnight leads to be crowned the inaugural Victorian Iron Jack Mid-Amateur Masters champions. Boulton had the equal best score of day 2 to end up with a four shot victory. Finishing with a two under total of 142, Boulton prevailed over Mooroopna’s Brett Kellow. Kellow’s score of 146 gave him outright second a further shot ahead of Richard Cahill (Commonwealth).
The nett section saw overnight leader Peter Davies take out the title, winning the event by three shots. After his terrific 65 at Black Bull yesterday, Davies, who plays off a handicap of 18, coudnt match his round 1 efforts finishing with 79 on day 2 for a 144 total . His score was three shots ahead of Kooringal’s Nick Babic on 147 and a further two shots ahead of Lee Orchard (Morwell) on 149.
In the women’s section, Geraldine O’Callaghan (Southern) is the 2018 champion after rounds of 77 and 80, gave her a total of 157. O’Callaghan finished four shots ahead of Bunniyong’s Helen Pascoe on 161.
The nett section was taken out by Yarrawonga’s Dot Brodie after her fantastic scores of 75 and 70 for a total of 145. Brodie used her local knowledge, comfortably prevailing over Donna Rohrich (Commercial Albury) who finished on 158.
