Bowditch, Jones share second

Sweden&aposs Jonas Blixt has won the Greenbrier Classic by two shots, holding off a quartet of players on the final day at The Old White TPC. Blixt birdied the fifth, ninth and 10th holes to move within a shot of the lead on Sunday and, despite two bogeys on the run home, the 29-year-old Swede managed to overhaul Johnson Wagner and stay ahead of Australian pair Steven Bowditch and Matt Jones, as well as Jimmy Walker. Jones and Bowditch both carded two-under 68s to take a share of second in West Virginia but were unable to overhaul Blixt, who held on for the second PGA Tour victory of his career. Blixt finished the tournament on 13 under after three birdies and two bogeys on the back nine, while Jones, Bowditch, Wagner and Walker finished in a tie for second at 11 under. Ted Potter Jr, Brian Stuard and Pat Perez were next on the leaderboard, tied for sixth at nine under. After thunderstorms delayed play for three hours, Wagner started the fourth round with a two-stroke lead over Walker, while Blixt was a further two shots behind but the overnight leader started poorly with a bogey on the second hole. Walker bogeyed the third and while both him and Wagner fought back to be even for the day halfway through their rounds, Blixt had the momentum and eventually claimed victory. Wagner dropped shots on the 11th, 13th and 15th holes to card a three-over 73, while Walker bogeyed the 10th to finish with a 71. When Bowditch birdied the 12th, his third of the day, the 30-year-old looked on track to challenge Blixt on the run home but a bogey on the 13th halted the Australian&aposs momentum and he had to settle for second. Jones took a little longer to get going on Sunday as he bogeyed the second hole but birdies on the ninth, 10th and 17th took the 33-year-old Australian to 11 under overall. Blixt&aposs victory was his second PGA Tour triumph in 10 months after he claimed the Frys.com Open in October.
