Richmond's John and Raine Brand have won the 2014 KENO NSW Mixed Fourball State Final. John and Raine were tied in third place after yesterday's round of 41 points, 4 points off the lead. After shooting a round of 42 points today, it secured the win with a total of 83 points and to win by 1 point.

Overnight leaders Pu Jiang Huang and Lucy Child (Moore Park) had a round of 37 points to give them a total finish of 82 points and outright second place. On a total of 80 points and third place winners were Brett and Hayley Sweetnam (Carnarvon GC) who had rounds of 39 and 41 points.
It was magnificent golfing conditions at Bonville Golf Resort today for the closing 18-holes of the 2014 KENO NSW Mixed Fourball – State Final and the round was enjoyed by all.

It was a great day for those players competing in the 2014 KENO NSW Mixed Fourball Championship State Final at Bonville Golf Resort.
Moore Park's pairing of Pu Jiang Huang and Lucy Child have scored a fantastic round of 45 points, leading the field after the first 18-holes. One point behind are David Cunningham and Gillian Maiden (Queanbeyan GC) with a score of 44 points. A further three teams are 3 points behind on 41 points. Tomorrow is the final round of the Championship, with all teams contesting the final 18-holes.

The 2014 KENO NSW Mixed Fourball Championship State Final will take place on 9-12 September 2014. Forty pairs (20 metropolitan and 20 country) have qualified through Club and District events to reach the State Final. They will play two rounds at the magnificent Bonville Golf Resort to determine the 2014 Champions.

The Championship kicked off on 1 January 2014, with club qualifying rounds commencing around the state. This year over 200 clubs participated in this event, with over 2,700 pairs competing at club level.
In July, metropolitan and district play-offs narrowed it down to 20 metropolitan and 20 country pairs to contest the State Final. The State Final is 36-hole stableford (two rounds of 18-holes).
“The pairs playing in the final of this tournament have had an amazing journey, from qualifiers at the start of the year, to making it right through to the state final – it’s a real achievement”, remarked Graeme Phillipson, General Manager of Golf at Golf NSW.
Activities kick off on Tuesday 9th September with a welcome BBQ for the players before they take to the course on Wednesday and Thursday. The event concludes with a presentation dinner on Thursday night to reward players for their efforts and to provide a festive finale to a fantastic event.
