Brilliant Day in Bright

Round 1 of the 2014 Alpine Senior Masters kicked off today at the Bright Country Golf Club. Nestled in the foothills of the Victorian Alps, players were treated to a superb day for golf on the beautifully tree-lined layout. In contrast to last year’s washout first round, the weather was absolutely perfect with brilliant sunshine and not a breath of wind.

Guy Krall (Yarra Yarra) fired a solid 2 over the card 74 today to be the outright leader after round 1. Following closely behind are the quintet of David Kelso, Christopher Blythman, Patrick Giles, John Wheeler, and Gordon Claney who all carded 75s.

In the handicap section, David Kelso (Gunnamatta, hcap 8) and Ignatius Duivenvoorden (Yarram, hcap 14) both posted blistering nett 67s to be leading the field.

Players will gather tonight to enjoy a BBQ dinner at the club tonight before round 2 commences tomorrow morning at 9:00am via a multi-tee start.
