Sportal Andrew Buckle has carded a one-under par round of 71 to remain in contention six strokes behind the leader, while John Senden slipped with a 75 in the second round of the Buick Invitational in California. Buckle set himself up for tilt at the title with a steady second round to add to his impressive six-under par opening round and take his score to seven-under par for the tournament. Compatriot Senden, who was in equal third position overnight, fell back to the pack with a three-over par 75 with Gavin Coles suffering the same second-round blues and dropping back to four-under par. Overnight leader Brandt Snedecker remains the man to beat after shooting a two-under par round of 70 to move to thirteen-under par and leave himself three shots clear of his rivals. The American couldn&apost repeat his first day heroics at Torrey Pines where he managed to equal the course record and shoot an 11-under par round of 61. Charles Howell III was the big mover of the day, carding nine birdies and only one bogey during his eight-under par round 64 to be in outright second position at 10 under the card. Jarrod Lyle continued his strong form during his debut season on the PGA Tour, finishing on six-under par at the half-way stage of the tournament and well in contention to take home a big slice of the $6.6 million prize purse on offer. World No. 1 Tiger Woods is alongside Lyle at six-under par after completing a solid even par second round of 72. Nine of the 14 Australians that began the tournament will compete on the weekend having finished above the three-under par cut off score.
