Bullas Leads Melbourne Senior Classic Field

Blustery conditions tested the 64 players at Spring Valley GC today for the first round of the 2013 Melbourne Senior Classic. The seniors haven’t had much luck with the weather this month, with relentless 44km/hr winds gusting at times close to 60km/hr making scoring extremely challenging once again.

Defending Champion Allan Bullas of Commonwealth came in with the best round of the day, carding a 76 off the stick to be leading the field by 1 shot from Ian Donaldson (Yering Meadows) and Jeff Hasthorpe (Trafalgar), both scoring 77.

Donaldson, off a handicap of 6 is leading the handicap section with nett 71 to be 1 shot ahead of Hasthorpe (Hcap 5) with a nett 72.

The second and final round will commence tomorrow via an 8am multi-tee start at Woodlands Golf Club.
