Bullas Wins the Melbourne Senior Classic

Alan Bullas from Commonwealth Golf Club has taken out the 2012 Melbourne Senior Classic following a final round three-over par at Woodlands Golf Club this morning.

Players welcomed the sunny, calm conditions today after yesterday’s extreme winds at Spring Valley. Bullas was able to capitalize on his opening round 79 at Spring Valley to take the title by just one shot, finishing on a two round total of 154. Wayne Aigner from Narooma Golf Club was just one shot behind Bullas, with the round one leader, John Wheeler (The National) a further three shots adrift. Also notable in the field was Pat Giles and Ken O’Brien (Rossdale) on 148.

Wayne Aigner took the honors in the nett component after the 5 marker fired rounds of 72 and 73 for a 36 hole total of 145 nett. Pat Giles of Goonawarra finished second on 141 nett to be placed four strokes behind the handicap champion.

The final Senior Event for Doug Bachli points will be the Moyne Senior Classic at Port Fairy Golf Club from 22nd – 23rd November.
