Burke leads the way at Seniors

The Golf NSW Senior Women’s team are playing well at the Australian Women’s Senior Championships at Ballarat Golf Club.

The team of Jacqui Morgan from Monash, Sylvia Donohoe from Narooma and Kim Burke from Shelly Beach/Magenta Shores have all consolidated their positions in the match play draw after two days of competition.

Burke was the big mover on day two, jumping three places to qualify for the matchplay in a tie for 3rd position with rounds of 80 and 82.

Narooma Golf Club’s Sylvia Donohoe and Monash Country Club’s Jacquelin Morgan are in a tie for 6th. Donohoe carded rounds of 82 and 83, while Morgan posted rounds of 81 and 84.

Unfortunately for Newcastle’s Jill Blenkey, rounds of 84 and 89 kept her out of the match play rounds when she finished in 20th position.

Others failed to qualify included Liz Smyth, Brenda Chalmers, Annette Bagie, Wendy Hergenhan, Chris Taylor, Jennifer Roberts, Margaret Salmon, Sandra Gillies, Pat Woodberry, Margaret Bishop, Catherine Hawke, Lorraine Arnaudon, Diana Johnson, Jill File, Shirley Walsh, Kerry Bazeos, and Judy Tokley.

The top 16 qualify for the Matchplay rounds for the Women's Senior Championship. For those that didn’t qualify for the main event, top-eight match play contests are being held in New Age Veterans, Veterans, Super Veterans, and Super Veterans Plus flights.
