Cameron Butler has taken out the inaugural Michael Richardson Memorial Trophy and the Parkes Dental Clinic Trophy at Parkes Golf Club.
Despite only being a member of the club since late last year, Butler cleaned up in the freezing conditions with a neat 2-over par round for 37 stableford points to win on a countback from his father, Wayne.
The memorial trophy, named in honour of the former town dentist, Parkes Golf Club Director and Captain who passed away in August 2015 was donated by the new owner of Mr Richardson’s dental clinic, Dr Riaz.
Local auditor Peter Woods and Richardson’s daughter Donna McKellar presented the trophies to Butler on behalf of the dental clinic and members of the club’s “Professionals” group. Woods also acknowledged the work that the late Mr Richardson had done for the club and the Parkes community.
Butler was thrilled with his bounty of awards, thanking everyone involved stating it was an honour to be the inaugural winner of such a prestigious award. He also thanked the club and the members for their support since joining the club late last year
