arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>Can the ‘Pro's really 'drive for show and putt for dough'?

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>The question will be answered as the Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway hosts the 2015 Pro Celebrity Karting Challenge on Monday evening.

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>Managing Director of the complex, Garry Holt is anxious to find out.

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>“I’m wondering who's got some sort of driving talent,” Mr Holt says. “And not just with a big metal driver in their hands.

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>“We’ve got a top-gun driving instructor on site ready to give them a bit of coaching just in case.”

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>The nine-lap challenge will kick off a week-long series of events celebrating Greater Western Sydney and the new home of the NSW Open Golf Championship.

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>Celebrities including Greater Western Sydney Giants stars Lachie Whitfield, Rory Lobb and Jake Barrett, along with sports celebrities former NRL stars Nathan Hindmarsh, Craig Gower, and Wendell Sailor, will take on PGA Tour of Australasia stars including Nathan Green, Anthony Brown, Jarryd Felton and Jordan Zunic amongst others.

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>Mr Holt is eager to ensure that all the celebrities and golfers have a good night and get the opportunity to find out whether they really are any good behind a race car steering wheel.

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>The Karting Complex boasts an 846 metre purpose built track, and the French-built karts can reach up to speeds of 100 km/h.

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>The racers can be assured that there’ll be no recklessness tolerated. The top gun instructor is also going to be the race referee.

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>It’s an electrifying experience too according to Mr Holt.

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>“You get a real thrill driving open karts,” he says. ”It’s the ultimate experience for the budding race driver.”

arial,helvetica,sans-serif;”>And a thrill it will be. Perhaps Australian Golf does have the next undiscovered champion race car driver in its ranks.
