John Vassallo believes tourism and sport are critical contributors to growth in the Penrith and greater western Sydney area.
His company, Celestino, are developing the Sydney Science Park next door to Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club and he is proud to be supporting the NSW Open Championship.
The Sydney Science Park is a development based on science, research, education, while also being a quality living environment.
“Research and Education are at the centre of what we want to build here over time,” he added. “ But tourism and sport are also important elements in growing this area into a major city hub,” he said.
The $5 Billion project will create a centre for research and development in the heart of Western Sydney and when complete it will be an entirely integrated community that will generate over 12,000 knowledge-based jobs, cater to over 10,000 students and be home to over 10,000 residents.
Mr Vassallo said Celestino had already entered into a couple of agreements with partners who are ready to deliver jobs to the area.??“The first agreement we entered into was with the CSIRO the first dedicated innovation Zone and Urban living lab.”
“The second is with the Cath Education Diocese of Parramatta to build the first STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering, and Mathematics) school in Australia from scratch.”
“We want build education, science, and research into the fabric of the city so that it will be second nature for people interacting with one another,” he added.
Mr Vassallo believes the NSW Open is an ideal chance to showcase the future potential of the area.
“I’m looking forward to seeing all the people here and watching Twin Creeks reach it’s potential. It’s been under the radar for a long time and once people see an event like this take place here the possibilities will be endless,” he said.
