Located in Frankston, Victoria and with a reputation for having one of the largest junior programs in the area, Centenary Park Golf Club has recently made the transition and become a registered MYGolf Centre. Under the instruction of PGA Professional Gavin Campbell, the public course has been a good environment for development with many juniors involved in the clinics joining the golf club before moving on to private clubs and some have even gone on to become members of the PGA. Despite the success as a stand-alone program, Campbell felt it was time to align with the national program; a move which he says has improved the standard of their delivery and has already proven to be a great success. Forty two juniors aged 4-17 have already made the transition into the MYGolf program and are enjoying the structure of the program and the chance to be able to test their skills. Clinics are run after school four days of the week as well as on Saturday mornings to ensure there is a session convenient for everyone. In each session, the kids spend time working on the different aspects of the game whilst maintaining a fun environment. Centenary Park has a remarkable track record with juniors, and with brand new facilities opening in November to complement the already existing practice areas, the popularity of the program is only going to increase.
