Australian duo Greg Chalmers and John Senden are tied for sixth place behind Sergio Garcia after the third round of The Barclays. Garcia overhauled American Nick Watney to open up a two-stroke lead at the top of the leaderbord after carding a two-under-par 69. The Spaniard sank five birdie putts to end the day at 10-under, two ahead of American Watney, who bogeyed four of the last nine holes to finish with an even-par 71. Kevin Stadler climbed to outright third after starting the day in 42nd position. The American had six birdies in a six-under performance to leave him at seven-under overall, three shots adrift of Garcia heading into the final round. Fellow Americans Brandt Snedeker (65) and Bob Estes (68) are a further shot back at six under, while Chalmers (68) and Senden (72) are in a four-way tie for sixth. Chalmers moved 21 places at Bethpage Black on the back of his five birdies, while Senden had a mixed bag of three birdies and four bogeys. Ryan Moore (70) and Brian Harman (68) join the Australians at five-under overall. Tiger Woods (72) and Phil Mickelson (67) headline the contingent of players who share 10th spot on the leaderboard. Mickelson, the three-time Major winner, was the day&aposs biggest improver, shooting four under to move equal 10th, having started the round in 52nd. Woods, meanwhile, slipped three places following his one-over display. South African trio Tim Clark (67), Louis Oosthuizen (68) and Charl Schwartzel (69), and William McGirt (67), Tom Gillis (68) and Lee Westwood (68) complete the top 10. Bubba Watson (70), the 2012 Masters champion, is seven-strokes off the pace in a share for 18th position, while world number one Rory McIlroy (69) is at two-under for the tournament and tied for 22nd. Australia&aposs Geoff Ogilvy shot a two-under par 69 to join the Northern Irishman in 22nd alongside Luke Donald (69), Ryan Palmer (68) and Vijay Singh who was one of the day&aposs biggest sliders. The Fijian posted three bogeys and two double bogeys for a five-over total, while Rickie Fowler (75) also endured a difficult day on the greens, shooting four over to sit 27th alongside the likes of Ernie Els (72) and Carl Pettersson (73). Adam Scott (74), runner-up at The Open, is tied 32nd at even overall, while compatriots Rod Pampling (74) and Jason Day (77) are languishing in 63rd position.
