Champion of Champions stand-alone

The Queensland Men’s and Women’s Champion of Champions is set to be a stand-alone event once again after six years played in conjunction with the Men’s and Women’s Stroke Play.

Golf Queensland is pleased to announce that the Queensland Men’s and Women’s Champion of Champions will be played over 36 holes at Pelican Waters, Sunshine Coast on Sunday, 14 October.

Eligibility is restricted to current male and female title holders of club and district events (affiliated by Golf Queensland), and select state championships, as per below, at the close of entries on 3rd October.

Golf Queensland’s Golf Operations Manager Luke Bates said he anticipates strong interest from Queensland club members for the revitalised championship.

“We invite all Queensland golf clubs and districts to encourage their male and female club champions to participate in the state championship,” said Mr Bates.

“With over 230 golf clubs and 18 districts, the tournament is a fantastic opportunity for club champions to play against the best of the best in Queensland, and ultimately determine the state’s 2018 Men’s and Women’s Champion of Champions.”

In addition to prizes on the day, the overall men’s and women’s gross and nett champions will be presented with a spot in the Isuzu Queensland Open Pro-Am during tournament week of 1 – 4 November at The Brisbane Golf Club, with travel assistance provided based on winners’ locations.

“The event offers a unique opportunity for players to experience all levels of competition from club, to state, and within a professional environment at the Isuzu Queensland Open,” Mr Bates concludes.
