Chinese veteran Zhang Lianwei has sunk a 16-foot birdie putt to inspire Team China to a 4-2 lead at the Dongfeng Nissan Cup in Shenzhen. On a wet day of fourballs at the CTS Tycoon Club, Team China won the last two matches, with Zhang and Yuan Hao defeating the Asia-Pacific pair of Wisut Artjanawat and Nicholas Fung 2 & 1, while Ouyang Zheng and Jin Daxing completed a one-up victory over Rory Hie and Choo Tze Huang. The two Asia-Pacific pairs had fought back from early deficits on Friday to draw level with just a handful of holes left, but Zhang&aposs stunning long putt on the 17th gave him and Yuan an unassailable lead and provided a boost for Team China. And when Choo missed a simple birdie putt on the 18th hole to hand Ouyang and Jin victory, Team China suddenly had a 4-2 lead on the opening day of the One Asia tour teams event. Earlier, Team China&aposs Wu Weihuang and Zhou Guowu combined for a 3 & 2 win, while their teammates Zhang Xinjun and Wu Kangchun triumphed by the same margin. Scott Laycock and Andre Stolz, as well as Soshi Tajima and Yosuke Tsukada were the triumphant pairs from the Asia-Pacific team.
