Cho and Yi-Chen lead, Lee surges

RESULTS ROUND 2 RESULTS Reigning Srixon Australian Amateur champion Justine Lee made a stunning charge in the second round of the Srixon Australian Women’s Stroke Play championship at Cottesloe Golf Club to be just one stroke behind leaders Cecilia Cho (NZ) and joint Round 1 leader Liu Yi-Chen (TPE). Cho, the leading amateur at the Pegasus New Zealand Women’s Open, bounced back from her opening round 74 with a second round 3-under par 69 despite the constant buzz from helicopters overhead. Lee, who opened with a 5-over par 77 on Wednesday, completed a ten stroke turnaround with a 5-under par 67 to share second place with joint overnight leader Caroline Bon who fired a 1-over par 73. Victorian Breanna Elliot shot a 2-under par 70 to move into outright fifth place after her first round 75. New Zealand s South Island champion Zoe Brake also fired a strong 3-under 69 to move to sixth place on two-over. WA s Jessica Speechley and Allyce Watkinson (NSW) share seventh place Hsuan-Yu Yao (TPE) at 3-over par for the championship..
