Choi holds on for victory

Her competitors threw down the gauntlet, but Clare Choi held on to claim the 2007 Tasmanian Women&aposs 72-Hole Stroke Play at Ulverstone Golf Club. The Victorian started the final day with a 10-shot lead, but by the close of play it had been whittled down to a solitary stroke. Cecilia Nha shot a stirring four-under, launching a late bid to claim her second successive Karrie Webb Series event. But Choi had done enough in the opening three rounds to give herself enough of a buffer to claim the title. Queenslander Bree Arthur had the round of the day, posting a five-under to move into outright third while Kristie Smith finished fourth. Final Scoreboard: 288: Clair Choi 289: Cecilia Nha 296: Bree Arthur 298: Kristie Smith 301: Ellie Na 304: Tammy Hall 305: Stephanie Brennan 306: Stacey Keating 308: Sarah Johnstone 312: Grace Lennon
