Doey Choi has qualified for her first U.S. Girls' Junior after carding an even-par 71 at the University of Michigan on Saturday Morning (AEST).
The 18-year-old representative from Concord was one of 65 girls vying for just five spots in this year's field at Poppy Hills. She will now join her NSW teammate Stephanie Kyriacou at Pebble Beach in California when the Championship starts on July 16.

Choi said she began her round slowly and found herself a couple over par after 11 holes. She held her nerve, however, and stormed home with a run of late birdies to seal medallist honours alongside Texan Macy Fox.
“It feels awesome,” the usually reserved Choi said. ”It's the first time I have attempted the Pre Q.”
“I was a few over after 11 holes, but I hung in there, and I finished the round with a few late birdies coming in.”
Choi has only played a limited amount of golf in North America to date but is enjoying the experience. She said her game is in good shape and described the standard of competition as strong.
“The level of competition is a lot different to back at home.
“There are soo many girls, many of them are from overseas here to play, which is great because it kind of gives me an indication where I am against other people in the world, not just in Australia,” she said.
