Churchill-Waverley embraces multiculturalism

Churchill-Waverley Golf & Bowls Club in Melbourne will open its doors to the multicultural community in the form of two events in March, both to be played at the Rowville (Waverley) site.

The club values cultural diversity and inclusion both within the club and the wider community, so the events will celebrate and recognise this important aspect of community life.

A Multicultural – Women in Sport day will be held on Wednesday 27 March and will involve 18-holes followed by a luncheon and guest speaker.

A Multicultural Golf and Bowls Challenge follows on Saturday 30 March. This is a team event of four players and includes lunch, 18-holes and a cocktail reception.

Golf Australia’s Victorian Golf Operations and State Manager, Therese Magdulski said: “The events are a great way to engage very important groups in our community. Diversity and inclusion are significant areas in Golf Australia’s strategic priorities”.

Peter Barnes, Club Captain of Churchill-Waverley Golf and Bowls Club said: “Churchill-Waverley Golf and Bowls Club is excited by the prospect of welcoming everyone.  Local community clubs, groups, business networks/councils, individual golfers and bowlers are encouraged to participate."

Players' display of multicultural heritage is encouraged.
