2013 CITY OF WODONGA JUNIOR MASTERS GOLF TOURNAMENT

What an event! When the hot northerly arrived earlier than expected the temperature rose rapidly. With only a few holes to complete by the last groups we decided to let them finish but supplied lots of additional water and ice.

 

Thirty-four players participated representing Golf Club – Murray Downs, Cobram-Barooga, Kialla, Euroa, 5 Melbourne metropolitan clubs, Queanbeyan, Cootamundra, and Bonidoon plus 8 local North East and Murray District clubs. Nineteen players had single figure handicaps – nine of them on 5 or less.

 

This year only 6 girls competed but they really outshone the boys – Georgia Macklan – Jubilee GC won her second Wodonga Junior Masters by 1 shot. Casey Wild shot a course record 71 on the Friday. Five of the six girls broke their handicap on at least 1 day – the sixth winning the longest drive.

 

Bebe Bouaham – Sanctuary Lakes GC –was the boys Junior Masters Champion by 2 shots from Kurt Burns – Bonidoon GC.

Bebe on a handicap of  3 had the best round for the tournament – 2 under par 70 on Friday.
