Claremont Shield Draw Released

Tasmania s club teams championship, the James Boag Claremont Shield, tees off at the Devonport Golf Club Saturday afternoon. Seventeen teams of four competitors representing division one and two pennant clubs from around the State will vie for the prestigious trophy. Defending champions Tasmania Golf Club are favourites to take out their fourth straight title this year. The Tasmania Golf Club team includes Craig Christie, Richard Kube, Andrew Phillips and Mark Schulze, two of which are current State team members. The quartet s collective handicap is that of plus four with Phillips and Schulze playing off plus three, and Schulze plus one. I would also recommend keeping a close eye on Royal Hobart, Prospect Vale, Kingston Beach and host club Devonport. The tournament also incorporates a handicap section, where teams compete for the Eric Bourke Memorial Trophy. The event format dictates that competitors participate in eighteen holes of foursomes on Saturday afternoon followed by 36-holes of singles on Sunday.
