Claret Jug wings its way to Sydney

Arguably the most coveted prize in golf, the Claret Jug, is on its way to Sydney for display at the Emirates Australian Open at The Royal Sydney Golf Club. The top three finishing players at Royal Sydney Golf Club, not already exempt into The Open Championship, will earn places. The Claret Jug will be displayed close to the action, likely at the first tee, for fans to view and pose for photos with. There are currently four players in the field who are already guaranteed a place at Royal Liverpool (Hoylake): Adam Scott, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy (NIR) and Kevin Streelman (USA). The Emirates Australian Open begins Thursday.
