South African Tim Clark will be looking for a more consistent performance when he tees off at this week&aposs Australian PGA Championship in Coolum, the second event in his maiden tour of Australia. Clark set the pace early on at the Australian Masters at Huntingdale last week, leading at the end of both the first and second rounds. But a disappointing four-over 76 in the third round saw his chances of taking the title diminish “Saturday was unfortunate, I felt that I didn&apost play nearly as badly as what the score showed, I shot four-over and still felt that I was playing okay,” Clark said. The 32-year-old then bounced back on the final day with a five-under round of 67 to finish in tied fourth position. “Luckily on Sunday I was still in a good frame of mind and came out and really could have got myself in there, being six-under, and unfortunately only ended up shooting five-under.” “But certainly it was a nice way to finish the tournament.” The world No.42 had no doubts about what he needed to do to challenge for the Australian PGA. “The last couple of years I&aposve put myself in contention a lot to win tournaments, I just haven&apost pulled it off, I do feel like I&aposm improving, which is they key to anything.” “I feel like I&aposve improved in the areas of my game that needed it and hopefully it starts to fall into place.” “Just like last week, you can&apost afford to have a bad run like that and try and win a tournament, that&aposs what it really boils down to, more consistency over four days.” Clark completed a practice round on Tuesday and was impressed with his first look at the Australian PGA course. “I enjoyed the golf course, obviously I&aposd heard quite a bit about it from the guys, so sort of what I expected, I quite like the greens.” “Similar sort of grass to what we play in Durban, so I&aposm looking forward to it.”
