Golf SA Amateur Classic New South Wales state representative Brett Drewitt will head into tomorrow&aposs final round of the 2011 Golf SA Amateur Classic holding a six-shot lead over the field at Glenelg Golf Club. Drewitt (Long Reef) extended his overnight lead by two in today&aposs third round in carding a 1-over par 72, to sit at a 7-under par total of 206 for three rounds. Drewitt&aposs nearest challengers Daniel Bringolf (The Australian) and Brad Moules (Royal Adelaide) failed to make any impression on Drewitt&aposs overnight lead, with both players returning 3-over par rounds of 74. Bringolf and Moules sit in joint second on 1-under par 212. Threatening overcast conditions greeted the players at the start of this morning&aposs third round at Glenelg, and by mid morning heavy persistent rain had descended on the Adelaide area making good scoring a challenging proposition. In total only six players broke par in round three of the Classic, with the day&aposs lowest scores being shared by Tom Bond (The Grange) and Brody Ninyette (Joondalup) who both carded two-under par rounds of 69. Victorians Rory Bourke, Nathan Holman and James McMillan and New South Welshman Lincoln Tighe all cared 1-under par rounds of 70. Rene Erichsen Salver Kooyonga&aposs Ebony Heard holds a one shot lead heading into tomorrow&aposs final round of the 2011 Rene Erichsen Salver at Glenelg Golf Club. On a difficult day of scoring due to heavy rain, Heard displayed a consistency missing from her opening rounds in recording three birdies and four bogeys for a 1-over par 75 and the low round of the day. Heard sits at 10-over par 232 for her three rounds to lead Royal Adelaide&aposs Sarah King by one. King carded a third round 3-over par 77 to sit on 233 for her three rounds, with Grace Lennon (80, Kingston Heath), Emma Ash (77, Kooyonga) and Carly Beck (77, The Australian) all sitting a further three shots back on 236. Despite the weather it was an improved day of scoring overall for the Salver field, with Hayley Bettencourt, Elissa Orr, Rhianna Davies and Rachel Taylor all breaking 80 in their third rounds.
