Close call for Jye in NT Amateur

Newcastle’s Jye Pickin has come home with a wet sail to finish in outright third place at Northern Territory Amateur at Darwin Golf Club.

Pickin, who plays for Avondale Golf Club, carded his best round of the tournament, a four under par 68 to finish with a four round total of nine-under par 279, two shots behind the winner, Queensland’s Kyle Gary. Victorian Travis Miller finished in second place a shot in front of Pickin.

Of the other Blues representatives in the field, Concord’s Josh Gadd finished at 4 under par, Nicholas Fuller of the Australian GC finished in a tie for 14th alongside Jacob Lawson of SA and the recent winner of the NSW Open regional Qualifier at Forbes GC, Konrad Ciupek of Victoria.

Thomas Heaton finished 17th, while Bryce Pickin and Joshua Robards were back in 31st place.
