Cobram Barooga Senior Open Underway

In perfect golfing conditions, the first round of the 2019 Cobram Barooga Senior Open was completed.

The men playing stroke competed on the old course with local hope Gary Hunt leading the way with 77. Two shots behind Hunt is Kingston Heath’s Gordon Claney, Corowa’s David Robb and Barwon Heads member Adam Charleston.

Another Cobram local, Ray Findlay leads the way in the nett section after returning a score of 68 off his handicap of 17. A further four shots back behind Findlay on 72 is Clifton Springs member Graeme Brierley.

The women and men playing stableford would take on the west course with Betty Cranston continuing the good form of the Cobram members posting the equal best score for the women with 39. Tied with Cranston is Gisborne’s Sharon Arnold. A further two shots back on 37 is Anne Kaczorowski (Cheltenham).

In the men’s stableford section, two more Cobram Barooga members are out in front with John Scandrett and John Hodges tied on 37.
