Coletta & Bunque lead at Port Phillip half-time

Brett Coletta (Sandhurst) will take a one shot lead heading into the final two rounds of the Men’s Port Phillip Open Amateur. Brett played a consistent second round which included 15 pars, 2 birdies & the lone bogey to fire a second round 72 (1 under) for a 145 total.

The men’s leaderboard is close at the top with Singaporean Greg Foo only one shot back alongside round one leader Austin Bautista (Bonnie Doon). Nine other players are within four shots heading into the final two rounds.

Stephanie Bunque (Victoria) has come out firing today, with an impressive score of 3 under the card to be leading the women’s field at the Port Phillip Open Amateur. The Victorian Elite Squad member carded a 70 today which included 6 birdies and takes the 36-hole lead by 2 shots from the trio of Dee-Dee Taylah Russell, Amanda Tan and Dayle Marshall.

The sun finally came out in the afternoon on day two after cloud cover dominated the morning. With scores slightly lower on day two, the field produced 6 eagles and a memorable hole-in-one for Matthew Roberson on the par 3 7th. Matthew, a Metropolitan member, holed out on the 182m hole with a 6 iron. This becomes Matt’s second hole-in-one.

The cut finished on 157 (+11) for the men and 162 (+16) for the women. Rounds 3 & 4 will be completed tomorrow at Kingston Heath Golf Club.
