National Sporting Organisation Exciting and Varied Position Exceptional Career Development Opportunity 4 month contract with view to permanency Golf Australia is the National Sporting Organisation for golf in Australia & the governing body for amateur golf. Golf Australia s goal is to raise the level of interest & participation in the game from grassroots golfers through to the elite levels, spectators, volunteers and associated industry bodies. An exceptional opportunity has arisen to play a key role in a progressive team. As a budding communications specialist, you will work across all facets of media relations and a wide variety of written and web-based communications. You will provide hands-on communications advice to all areas of the business, manage the Golf Australia website and play a major role in the promotion and media management of golf tournaments (including the Australian Opens). Some interstate travel may be required. The successful candidate will have: Tertiary qualifications in Public Relations, Communications and/or Journalism; 2-3 years experience in public relations/media/communications; Exceptional written and oral communication skills; Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure; Sound organisational skills with proficiency in Microsoft software packages. Basic html and photoshop skills would be a distinct advantage; Demonstrated ability to pitch innovative story ideas to media; Strong media contacts; A passion for sport with a keen interest in golf.
