Como back to defend School Teams title

Defending champions Como Secondary College will return to defend their title at the 2009 Australian School Teams Championship, after winning the Western Australia State Final played at Gosnells Golf Club last week. The winning team of Liam Spooner, Jason Chellew and Whitney Harvey returned a score of 223 in the 18-hole stroke aggregate team competition, to defeat Ocean Reef Senior High School by four strokes. Como will now join Hills Educational from Queensland, who was the first team to progress to the National Final when it qualified through its State Final in December last year. Each of the six State Finalists will compete in the all-expenses paid National Final at Peninsula Country Golf Club over 36 holes in early August. The four remaining State Finals will be played in the coming months.
