Como Secondary College from Western Australia leads the Australian School Teams Championship National Final being played at Peninsula Country Golf Club in Victoria. The team of Aiden Bae, Ryan Smith and Travis Chong recorded a total score of 232 to take a one stroke lead over Hills Educational Foundation in Queensland. Como Secondary College has won the event twice in the last three years and is a sport focused secondary school in Perth. In its 19th year, the five teams from all states (excluding Tasmania), earned the right to contest the National Final after beating over 200 teams throughout Australia at their respective State Finals played in recent months. The event is a grueling test of character as all three team members scores are counted towards the team s aggregate scratch total. In what could only be described as perfect playing conditions, the course tested some players, however Aiden Bae from Como Secondary College tamed the layout with a two under par 70. He leads Edin Selimovic from Hills Sports High in NSW by one stroke in the individual component of the event. Going into tomorrow&aposs final round, Como Secondary College will be hoping to add its name to the Trophy once again, however Hills Educational Foundation which is a golfing high school 45 minutes from Brisbane will have something to prove.
